Lisa, We are in Group 239 with AWAA and just received our referral. We are very excited about meeting our new daughter. I followed your journey to Eliana and really enjoyed your website. I was very interested in the fact that you traveled Carry On Only. We are planning to do that as well. I was wondering if you could give me any packing tips or any information that might be helpful. By the way, Eliana is beautiful and I know you are enjoying every minute with her. Thanks, Sharon

Lisa, can you give me more information on what agency you're using for Taiwan adoption? I have two friends looking to adopt and wanting a shorter wait time than China. What can you tell me about their requirements, age of children available, length of wait time, any resources etc? I'd gladly pass on the information to my friends. If you respond to my e-mail, please put "Taiwan adoption" in the subject line. My e-mail tnt8lennard@yahoo.com

We really enjoyed following your journey to China and loved your sense of humor. Glad to see she is adjusting well. I also had two boys and adopted a little girl through AWAA back in Dec. '05. We are now starting the paperwork for our second one.

What a wonderful story! Now that our babies are actually teens we've started to think about how we might be able to help a child who needs a home through adoption.
As fellow Ohioans living in Canada I wish you and your family continued joy!
Peace and blessings. Sharon McMillan

Nathan and Lisa, I just love a wry sense of humor! I didn't keep up with your website on our trip...we were there, too... but I just howled at some of your entries! I remember seeing you guys there, and I regret not taking the time to chat with you in person! It is so wonderful to read over and over how God weaves our families together!

We now have FOUR kids...did I just type that? So I completely understand the lack of time thing, but if you have a chance to keep in touch, send me an email... Our website is www.hopeforcaroline.com. Thanks for sharing...especially the diaper changing story at the Banana Leaf! Hey, can I link you guys on our site? Blessings...the Martens Pack

Nette told me about the web site and I was really impressed. I think it is a great idea to share your love and good fortune with a baby from another country that may not have such a nice life. Congrats, I hope you have nothing but beautiful times with your new daughter. Just think Lisa, you can share those great math skills with all your children.

Hi- I am on the yahoo group and saw your blog posting. We just got back Dec. 20th from China. Our daughter was also at Kunming CWI. I think I remember seeing your daughter during our orphanage visit! FYI - Our daughter hated the bottles we brought and only wanted one similar to the one the orphanage used. It is the Playtex VentAire and you CAN NOT find them anywhere in Kunming - we tried. We received our travel approval very quickly, hopefully you will too. We also have 2 biologically boys and also live in Ohio. Email me if you have questions about Kinming and our experience.
Best wishes!

Dear Lisa, Nathan and your 2 gorgeous boys - what a wonderful website - thank you for sharing it with us and yes you can add our link to your website. What an incredible journey is the one of adoption. We have only know the details of our little girl for 16 hours and I'm awake at 3am writing this! It is the most amazing feeling and I know you will understand even more when you receive referral of your daughter. Every moment of the wait is worth it - I know many say it - but it's true. We haven't even seen her face yet - but she's lived in our hearts SO long it doesn't matter.
May God continue to bless you richly.

Hi Lisa,
Just stopping by. I was lookig at all the pictures...OMGosh you have such a cute family. I had to search for you LID, so it shouldn't be too much longer. Although I'm not as familiar with China adoptions, it seems like it should be close right. I'm going to have to catch up on your journey, so give me a few and you'll be seeing my comments. I loved reading about how adopting an Asian child was always a part of your heart. Some things we just know from an early age. I always wanted to adopt, I just figured I would have biological children first, after four years struggling with infertility my husband and I decided that maybe we should listen to what was placed in my heart so long ago. Funny how that happens. Watching for that referral news. Oh and a guess on her birthday, maybe we should go with my birthdate, April 1st! hee...hee!!

Lisa,

I tried to e-mail you back, but I kept getting a delivery notification that it wouldn't go through. Anyway, you are right, adopting from China sure isn’t for the faint of heart! My blog is public, so if you would like to add me to your links section that would be fine.

Hope you can join us for our book club! The first selection is Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. If you decide to participate in my book club blog, I would be happy to add you to my links. Just let me know!

Lisa and Nathan,
WOW - this is amazing - so much information packed into one place in such a creative way! I learned so much from reading through your website and I am so excited for you and your family! As your anticipation grows each day, know that God is watching over your little girl and keeping her safe while you are not with her. In His time (I know it is hard to wait according to His schedule, not yours) you will receive the referral and be off to give her all the love that has been bubbling inside of the two of you for the past 16 months. Good luck with everything! We have an overabundance of "girls stuff" that we would love to share. Love, Kelly

Ok, you guys are way too cool. Thanks for letting us into your lives to track this journey with you. I can't wait for you to experience the joys of having a girl. (You might want to start honing in on your hairstyling skills now because pigtails and ponies definately take nimble fingers. Perhaps this could be what gets you to the 2008 Olympics?) Surely God's timing is perfect. Our prayers are with you!
Shirley 2006-6-7 17:35   Stryker, USA Website
Your website is SOOOOO neat! This will be a great way for us to get the latest scoop and keep up on what's happening. This will be extremely helpful since it's like pulling teeth to get Grandma Lilly to talk. :) It's been said that God's timing is nothing like ours; His is rarely early, never late, but always perfect. We'll keep praying for you guys, and this special little addition to your family.
Cammie 2006-5-9 12:55   West Unity, USA Website
I just realized that you guys have a journal as well! Duh, since you're the brains behind this wonderful website! I feel like an idiot after reading your journal entries because just last night I asked you the dreaded question at Mops, Do you know when you're getting your girl? Like I told Kelly, I am so thankful that you both have had each other to go through this process with, because though I've worn many "shoes" during my life, adoption is not one of them and I honestly have no idea what you are going through. So thank you for being "real" in your journaling and letting us clueless adoption people catch a glimpse into your life! I can only tell you that I am praying for you and your beloved daughter and that God's timing is PERFECT, although we don't agree sometimes!
Sheila 2006-5-9 12:12   Bryan, USA Website
I love your site. It looks great, not that i expected anything less!!! Well your family has been in our prayers and will continue to as you continue with this adventure that God has you on. Nathan and Lisa,
This site is an awesome way to share everything that's going on with your adoption process. I have went from laughing my head off to tears in a matter of seconds. I cannot imagine the agonizing wait that you guys are going through. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. And that we will be praying that God will allow this whole process to hurry up and take place. Love you guys, Amy and family.
