(Nathan)
On the home stretch now, we're celebrating and mourning many
“finals”:
The
final day to drink in the culture of China
The
final breakfast of crispy bacon and eggs made to order
The
final bus ride with all of our Yunnan families together in one place
The
final photos being snapped
The
final journal entries being written
The
final prices being haggled over
The
final meals eaten with chopsticks
The
final cappuccino from Starbucks
The
final Chinglish signs and phrases
The
final paperwork, formalities, and fees
The
final packing of the suitcases
The
final goodbyes
The
final flights to home
After
two long years, it's finally happened. Let's go home, baby
girl.

Now Eliana's American life can begin, and what a wonderful family she has joined to make that happen. Thank you, Lisa and Nathan, for sharing your incredible journey with all of us. You both are so talented, and as I told one of my favorite authoris, Beverly Lewis, "when I read your stories, I feel like I am right there with you". That is exactly how I am when I read your journals. You've opened a whole new world to us. |

| Nathan and Lisa, I've been following your journey in China every day, and can't believe I haven't written yet, and now you're on your way home. Sorry! Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS! and thanks for sharing your journey. Those "finals" are sure bittersweet. Enjoy your sweet baby girl! |

| Phrase of the day "HOLY JOURNAL OVERLOAD BATMAN!" And aren't those the same clothes you've been wearing for the last two weeks. Phew, China will be glad to see that plane go! Hopefully you will all be on it;) We're excited to have you headed back home to subzero Ohio so we can all hear the chicken laugh instead reading it. Oh, poor, poor, elbo. Welcome to the Skiles'! |
