(Nathan) For those who are dying to know, we have survived
Day 1 of jetlag. Had to get up with
Eliana a few times last night, but she took only one nap today so we’re hoping
she does better tonight. Lisa and I both
woke up around 5:00 AM and couldn’t go back to sleep. She got up.
I persevered and eventually fell back asleep until 9:00 AM.
What a lazy hog. The whole family
crashed with a nap this afternoon which was a welcome rest. Sure was tough to pull myself off of that
couch.
I’m not sure which is worse about traveling for so many
hours straight—the lack of sleep or lack of food. We’ve been ravenous! Probably because our taste buds have been
deprived of REAL American food for so long.
Chili! Roast beef and veggies! Glorious.
The boys continue to dote on Eliana, helping feed her, hold
her, dress her, giving us the run-down on everything she’s doing every
moment. She’s got to love the constant
attention. I think the fact that we’ve
talked about and prayed together for her for so long has made a
difference. Instead of a “ho hum,
there’s a new baby in the house” attitude, they seem to have looked forward to
her coming almost as much as we did.
Thrilled our hearts to hear Zack proclaim “That’s my very own baby sister!”
repeatedly when he saw her at the airport.
The newness of it all will surely fade, but I know they’ll be such good
brothers to her.
Good to have us all together.
