(Nathan) Okay, you international travelers out there. I’m sure you have some home remedies for
jetlag. I’m ready to hear them. Eliana and Lisa slept decently last
night. I, on the other hand, woke up at 3:30 AM and could not go back to sleep even
after taking some Tylenol PM. Finally
just got up with Lisa after 6:00 AM, ate breakfast together, then I hit the
sack again from 7:00 until about 10:00 AM—at which point Lisa bounced on the
bed, baby in tow, and bellowed “Second Shift!”.
She’s subtle that way.
Lisa managed to get a nap in this afternoon. I fought through the drowsies and skipped it
for fear that I wouldn’t sleep tonight.
Almost resorted to propping my eyelids open with toothpicks.
The boys are used to us being around again. I can tell because the good behavior is
wearing off—both theirs and mine. Gotta
love ‘em though. It’s been fun to play
and wrestle together again.
Eliana got her first introduction to what it’s like to have
brothers when Zack drove his toy car over her face. What makes a 2-year old think he needs to do
that? Does her face LOOK like a
road?! She cried a little and he obviously
felt bad because he covered his eyes with his arm. “Girls are delicate flowers,” we tell him.

Oh, how good it is to have the house a little fuller by one
person. We were discussing at dinner
tonight how the parents are outnumbered now.
We have to go from playing man-to-man to zone defense. Trips to the store used to mean each parent takes
one kid. Now it’s going to be guys with
one cart and girls with another. Just
one of the many changes in store.
